Houston Zoo...

Today we went to the Houston Zoo. My sister Christin is here visiting for a while so we thought we would take in our first big event in Houston and try the zoo- we had a blast! We are falling more and more in love with this city every day. Our house, as we have discovered, is in a wonderful location. It takes Steve about 4 minutes to get to work. I love walking in my neighborhood every morning, and we have already made so good friends. It is great being in the same place with my good friend Jenny again- just like college but we have somehow managed to turn into semi-adults:)! The church is incredible. We love calling Southwest Central our church home and look forward to the journey ahead of us. I am currently looking for a job. I have sent out a couple resumes, no bits yet, but I have not given up faith. This may take me a while and I am prepared for that. Tonight we are having the youth team over for dinner- this will be the first big event at our new home- the first of many!!

Hello Houston.....

Hello from Houston, we are here and loving it so far. We arrived last Thursday at about 2pm and there were 15 people from the church waiting for us to help us unpack the Uhaul- we got it done in 45 minutes! Steve had his first Sunday on the 17th and he did wonderful. He has been working in the office all week and I have been setting up the house. My Mom came in this week and it was wonderful having her here helping and hanging out. I will begin looking for a job and studying for my big test this next week- fun stuff. I am a little nervous about finding a job, but I know the Lord will provide excatly what I need. The above picture was taken of the church billboard outside the building. Below are a couple pictures of the house- it is coming together slowly and we are so proud of our first home together!!!

Girl's Night.....

The above picture was taken this past weekend in Fort Worth at Sundance Square. I had the privilege to spend the evening with my four roommates from college. We had the best time hanging out, catching up, and enjoying each other’s company. I am so blessed to be able to keep up good relationships with all of them. It was a good breather before this crazy week of moving!

Steve and I have 3 more days in Abilene. Things are crazy but going good. It has been sad saying goodbye to all our friends and mentors here, but we know we have great friends waiting for us in Houston. Our little house is all packed up and ready for the move to Houston. Now all we have to do is get the U-haul on Wednesday and pack it up. We will be leaving early Thursday morning to make the drive to Houston. It is so exciting to get to do this with Steve. Makes me feel like a real grown-up!
