Harry Potter and Camp Bandina....

We are back from camp in one piece and now trying to catch up on some much needed sleep! We had a good time and the kids loved the experience. I will say this was one of the harder weeks of camp I have done and this is saying alot because I did camps in college for 5 years! But given the chance I would do it all over again. Steve and I were able to grow closer to our kids in the youth group and that opportunity is priceless. Below are a couple pictures from the week.

Here I am with a couple of the girls from our youth group.

Steve and I getting ready for the 4th day of camp. I love this picture because this is what we looked like when we worked ACU Leadership Camps together. Good memories!

The Friday night before we left we had the opportunity to go with some of our new friends, Beth and Jeremy Brown, to the Harry Potter Book 7 release. It was so fun and some money went to the Children's Hospital. Below is a picture, taken a little after midnight.

I love the Harry Potter series and can't wait to complete the series. I am reading this book very slow- I am also studying for my BIG NCC test which is in 9 days!! I am pretty nervous about the test, so I am studying pretty hard. In fact that is really all I am doing right now. So I only get to read a chapter a day of the Harry Potter book. Sad, but good. I hate to admit it, but I miss being in a learning enviroment like grad school, I have really enjoyed studying!

So that is me in nut shell.... study, study, study.

So I have been tagged...

So I was tagged by my good friend Jenny. Here it goes... some of my firsts....

First memory- Walking with my Grandad up a huge flight of stairs at the apartment complex my parents and I lived in in Abilene. I have on a blue dress and I love holding my Grandad's hand.

First kiss- Justin in 9th grade. I thought I had arrived as a teenage girl- oh to be 15 again:).

First love- Stephen Patrick Sargent, who also happens to be my amazing husband. I look forward to growing old with my first love.

First concert- Steven Curtis Chapman when I was in the 6th grade. I also went without my parents- so I thought I was pretty cool.

First thing you think in the morning- I am hungry, I want my bowl of cereal.

First pet- A golden retriever named Allie- she was seriously the best dog ever!

First thing you think of when you hear the word vacation- Good food- I love to eat!

First best friend- Jamie (Mauldin) Thompson, we have know each other since we were born.

Last time you dressed up- Steve and I went on a hot date last week- I looked pretty smashing if I say so myself j/k. No, but really....

Last CD you bought- Funny this question is here- I just bought a CD today and usually I only use iTunes. I bought Colbie Caillat. Steve and I have been listening to her for awhile- now she has finally made it big, so I wanted to support her and buy the CD, it is wonderful.

Last time you told someone you loved them- Steve: he just called from work.

Last really funny thing you did- I can't think of a funny thing- I must be pretty boring and not funny- oh well.

Last thing you watched on TV- Sports Center, I will watch this sometimes with Steve. Last show I watch was Man vs. Wild- it is a must see!!

Now I tag Beth and Jeremy Brown- enjoy!

Below are a few pictures from the past couple weeks. Steve and I went with his mom and sister to the Houston Aquarium. We had a blast riding all the rides and looking at the fish. We also had the teen BBQ this past weekend. It was blast and our church family was amazing. We love our new home here in Houston!!!

Some of the beautiful fish we saw.

Frogs live in Houston?...

So we have LOTS of little and big frogs that live in our backyard. It rains so much here, thus the frogs can thrive in our yard. The are fun and new to me. In West Texas frogs could never survive from the lack of rain. Here is a picture of a small one. The big ones are a little too scary for me so no pictures of me holding them. Steve and I went for a walk the other night and they were all over the road hopping and making that frog noise- pretty different:)!

Steve and I also got to expereince an Astro's game this past Monday. One of the memebers from church gave us some pretty incredible tickets so we took two of the kids in the youth group. We had a wonderful time eating hotdogs, pizza, and ice-cream. Neither one of them had been to a baseball game so it was special to share in this with them. They kept telling us this was the best night of their lives- pretty cool to get to share that night together.

The fouth of July was a great day for Steve and I. We worked out at our new gym- it is awesome! Then we took one of the teens to lunch at Prince's Burgers. One of the best hamburgers I have ever had and that is saying alot because I love hamburgers! Then we went and took in the new Transformer movie- we both really liked it. Brought back all of those childhood memories of getting up early to watch cartoons on Saturday morning. Do kids still do that? We spent the evening with the church at a cookout, devotional and lots of watermelon. The above picture is Jenny, Jenna, me and Kayci. These girls as so much fun and I have felt so loved on by each of them in my 3 shorts weeks here. I think great things will come in the futrue in our friendships!

So that is me in a nutshell. We are still loving Houston and the fun city life. There is so much to do here and Steve and I plan on taking advantage of it all. Still no job yet, but I have gotten some good leads. I am studying for my big NCE exam right now. Hope to take it the first week of August. Until next time.... blessings!!
