A Little of this and a Little of that...

Nothing too exciting is going on in my neck of the woods. I am working pretty hard right now and slowly but surely building up my client load. Every night when I am driving home I still can't believe I get to what I do every day

As a child Steve and his family vacationed by RVs and motor homes. I have been a couple times with his family and I must say it is pretty fun. Several months ago he asked if I had ever been to an RV show. Since this is something that was foreign to me growing up, I said no, never. Well, to my surprise Steve has been planning a trip to the Houston RV for over 6 months. The show was held at Reliant Stadium and they sure did pack it out with RVs! My favorites were the huge 5th wheels. They were like very nice, small homes on wheels! We took lots of fun pictures and had a blast. I love doing random things like that with Steve.

Update on Hope: last weekend was rough. She stopped eating for about 4 days and started throwing up. After some experimenting with some foods, we have found stuff that she really likes. It is in cans and I am not that big of a fun, but it is better then letting the girl starve! She has made a couple trips up to the office with me and my client lover her. I can't wait until she can go full time.

Meet Hope...

Meet the newest member of our little family- HOPE!!! For the past 6 weeks Steve and I have been in the adoption process for a Boston Terrier. Houston has a rescue society for every breed of dog and for some time I have wanted a Boston. After much research and deliberation we decided a Boston would be perfect for us. They are small, loving, like to be around people, and have minimal shedding.

When we went to pick out our dog two weeks ago I did not know what to expect. I knew I wanted a calm dog that liked to be held and touched. And here is why: I have a dream of having a dog that will come to work everyday with me and be a therapist right along side me. So when we decided we were ready for a dog we knew the temperament we had to have. When we walked into the kennel to meet all the dogs, every dog was jumpy and barking- all except Hope. She was just sitting there waiting for us to come pick her up. As soon as Steve and I spent about 5 seconds with her we knew she was the one for us!

The past two weeks have been hard ones for Hope. After we decided she was the one for us we found out they had just found her and she had not been to the vet yet, so we would have to wait a week to take her home. At the vet they found out who ever owned her before took very poor care of her. She has had a couple litters of puppies and they were removed by C-section. So they had to do some repair work when they went in to fix her. And then she also came back positive for heartworms. This can be very deadly for dogs. So now she is on heavy duty meds. and she has to be kept quiet and calm at all times.

We ended up having to wait two weeks to get her because she is a little more sick then we thought. The heartworm battle is not over yet- we still have about 60 days to go, but Hope is a fighter. I will keep you posted on her progress. Needless to say we have loved having her around the past 24 hours. She is so calm and cuddly- she loves to follow Steve and I around the house. After her treatment is done we will start pet therapy training and she should be coming to work with me by late April. Enjoy the pictures.
