Is it Friday all ready?! I feel like time is on warp speed right now. Today in my 'Favorite Things Friday' I will be sharing my favorite supply items around the office. These are items I use everyday and are a staple for me in my day to day work.
First off- my Brighton business card holder. I give out cards all day long. My dear friend Jamie gave me this card holder for my birthday a couple years back and it sits right by my desk ready for easy assess when I am writing down clients appointment times for the next week. I love it because it is pretty and adds a special touch to my desk. And I think of Jamie each time I use it, which I like.
I do not use fancy pens, but I am particular about my pens. I use Paper Mate black ballpoint pens. My pens have to be black and they need to write smooth. These pens get the job done and are cheap. I really do prefer inky pens, but with my casenotes and amount of writing, I have found my inky pens can explode (ruining my casenotes) and tend to bleed through my paper. The paper mate pens are low hassle- which is good for me when I am writing (what seems like) hundreds of pages of case notes.
My Week-At-A-Glance calendar. I love this little guy. It breaks down each day of the week hour by hour. Which makes it very easy to schedule clients since I do hour long sessions. My current calendar is green (my favorite color) and it is on recycled paper (which I love anything earth friendly). I am about to buy a new calendar for 2011. I plan on doing another Week-At-A-Glance, but if any of you have any other suggestions I am always looking for new or better ideas. I like to be organized.
And probably the thing I use the most- my Post-Its. I have Post-Its every where. I am constantly jotting down notes, messages, client numbers, ideas, and thoughts. By the end of the day my desk will often look like a Post-It threw up on my work area- it is usually covered. Right now I am using pastel yellow. For some reason I always buy pastel colors. The Post-It I am currently looking at sticks to my wall right above my computer and it reads: 'Be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances.' This is good thing for me to look at several times a day.So there you have it- my favorite office supplies. If there is anything you use that you think is a must have, please feel free to share. I love your list today! I'm going to have to do a FTF post later this afternoon. I love your Brighton card holder. Jamie has excellent taste, it's lovely.

Office supplies... School supplies... oh, how I love them. I bet you don't remember a world without Post-it Notes? How did we live without them?!

I had a favorite kind of pen for grading when I was teaching. I used purple uniball pens. They weren't easy to find and they weren't particularly cheap but they made a mundane, sometimes excruciating task more cheerful and hopefully weren't as discouraging as red.
