Monday marked the beginning of our 36 week and we started the week with a great visit to the doctor. It was the first appointment they checked to see if I had dilated and I had the last of the blood work and tests run. No dilation BUT Sweet Pea is head down and in position. This is why my hip pain got so bad last week- she dropped, who knew?:) The doctor was pleased with how my body is preparing for labor/birth and she said everything looked right on track and healthy. The baby is measuring at 35 1/2 weeks and she is around 6 pounds give or take some. It was an exciting visit to the doctor and made everything even more real (if that is possible). Steve and I are as ready as we are going to be. Right now we are just waiting and enjoying this fun month. I have very little anxiety about what is to comes, really just excitement. Which is good, I really did not know how I was going to feel once December rolled around. The pain in my hip has gotten better over the week. I mainly attribute this to my heating pad and taking it easy. I am still taking walks around the block, but I have decided to give up the gym for now. This is pretty hard for me, but the relief of pain in the hip has made it worth it. I am still sleeping pretty good and since it has gotten cold (praise, praise!) I have had minimal swelling.
And now on to the nursery. It is about as done as it is going to get so I thought I would share some pictures. There are a couple things we are still working on but over all it is ready for a baby. Above is what you see when you walk in and look to the left. A bookshelf we got from IKEA back in 2009, her diaper corner, and the changing table. Remember we got the changing table at Salvation Army in September and Steve refinished it. The 'diaper corner' is kind of a catch all right now. There are lots of diapers that I know are going to go fast, her humidifier, the boppy pillow, the diaper champ, and her hamper (which is FULLL of diapers, thank you Beverly!). I am sure we will clear it out soon enough.
Another view of the book shelf. Hope she has enough books:). The dress on the wall was mine when I was a little girl, my great-grandmother made it for me. The shelf of the wall has my old baby shoes, an old Paddington Bear book, and some owls my good friend Libby sent me from Africa. The flowers on the wall were bought from a store here in town called 10,000 Villages. The store supports people in lower income countries and sells their goods and then all the proceeds go back to them. The store is run by volunteers. The flowers were made in India and the middle is made of their news paper, I bought these the week before we found out we were having a girl on a whim she just might be a girl:).
The changing table and family wall. I love the wall of pictures. It is all the grandparents and great-grandparents when they were young. Then baby pictures and grown up pictures of Steve and I. The quote is about family and I love how the middle picture ties in the owl them. Thank you Pinterest for the idea:).
The rocker and a bed for Hope. I know I'll be spending good time in that chair and Hope likes to be in the same room as me, so naturally she got a spot too. The art work above the chair is Kelly Rae Roberts, of course. It says 'Brave Girl' and the color scheme matched perfectly.
Of course there are some fun details in the room. Here is the switch plate cover for the light- thank you, Etsy. There are still a couple things I am looking for, but they will come when they come. I would like to get some owl pulls for the fan and then my mom is going to help me make a curtain for the closet over Christmas. I think this requires a trip to High Fashion Fabric very soon! We did have sliding doors on there but 1) I hate sliding doors and 2) they were old and would not stay in the tracks, probably not the safest for a baby. I'll post pictures of the final product when we get around to it.

And last, but not least, her crib. Not the best picture, but it will do. I LOVE the bedding. We had it made by a little shop in Mississippi. The coral and aqua set the color scheme for the room. The mobile I got off Etsy and I have to admit it is my first disappointing purchase off Etsy. It is was not well made and has been slowing falling apart. The color is perfect and the owls are great, but the mobile itself was not well made. Live and learn and moving on. The quote of the crib was one of the first things I got for the room- even before we knew if we were having a girl or boy. It is perfect for the owl theme.
Over all the room is exactly what I wanted- not too babyish, but feminine and inviting, and a place I will enjoy as well. I know we will be spending lots of time in there too. The main word people say when they walk in the room is calming- that is one of the best compliments for me. Now all we need is a baby to put in it...

The room looks so great!! I love it. It is very calming. Wish I could see it in person right now and then chat over a cup of coffee and muffin. :)
Such a sweet nursery all perfect and inviting. With all 3 of my babies I would just sit and in their completed nursery and just dream of the child that was to fill this room. Such Joy!!
I was SO hoping you would have baby Sargent's name SOMEWHERE in her room. I am such a monogram junkie and love seeing names on everything. All I caught was a C on the wall---hmmmmmm, guessing her name starts with a C??? Chloe, Claire, Cate...???!!! So excited to hear her sweet name.
Any day now!! I'm so excited for y'all. You will never be the same.
The nursery is lovely! You look beautiful. Can't wait to meet baby girl Sargent.
You did such a great job on the nursery - I know your little owl will feel right at home. ;)
I love the room and that you hung the family pictures and your baby dress and shoes (my sister did the same thing. But my most favorite thing is the bed for Hope!
Chels- her room is so PRECIOUS!!! You did such a beautiful job on it & I know you will love spending time in there!
