The above picture was taken around 8am the morning of December 20, 2011. My water had broke about 6:45am and I was starting to have light contractions. I look at this picture and I can not believe I was that big! I have a fully grown baby in there- wow!!!
This year has been amazing and hard and emotional and wonderful and well, indescribable at times. Cora came into our lives on this rainy day one year ago and change everything in beautiful ways. I have loved being a mother (more so then I thought I would). I have loved watching Steve be a dad (especially a dad to a baby girl). I have been amazed at the ways God has provided for me this last year (emotionally, physically, mentally). It is amazing and beautiful to watch a human develop right before your eyes. Watching Cora grow this year has been a blast.
And so this morning we started off celebrating by walking into her room signing Happy Birthday. Then we all got dressed and headed to the Kolache Factory to watch Cora indulge in her first cinnamon roll- you should have seen the smile on that girl's face after each bite:). And now we are at home playing and enjoying each other and remembering what we were doing this time last year. What a great day Dec. 20th is in our home.
Happy birthday, Cora June. May today be the beginning of many, many birthdays. May you feel loved today and always. And may God's grace and light shine upon you at all times.
