Those of you who follow me on Instagram have seen most of these pictures and already know- we had an OUTSTANDING time at Steve's sister's wedding this last weekend. Serious, one of the best weddings we have ever been too- so much fun!
We got in Friday morning and met all of Josh's family (who are awesome) and ate good food and rested and hung out at Lakeway (the resort the wedding took place). I also got to go out with all the girls that afternoon to have my nails and toes done.
Cora was such a trooper all weekend. She slept well, played hard, and was the cutest flower girl you have ever seen. We really lucked out with a baby that travels so well.
Saturday morning all the bridesmaids gathers for the bridesmaids luncheon. We ate at this awesome organic brunch place- so yummy and perfect for all of us to just be together. Since all the other bridesmaids were from up North, I was the only one who had not met everyone. It was fun to make four new friends throughout the weekend.
Above is myself, Kate (the MOH from Chicago), Andi (Josh's sister from Pittsburgh), Kelly (the bride), Maggie (Josh's SIL from Nashville), and Allison (Kelly's work friend from upstate New York). Such neat, neat ladies.
After the luncheon and a brief time to change we started the rehearsal. There was a wedding on Saturday evening so we had to rehearse earlier in the day, which actually worked out well because we had to drive into Austin for the dinner.
It was such a good time to spend with Steve- almost like a date weekend since Christin was there to hang out with Cora all weekend.
The rehearsal dinner was at Pappasito's- so yummy. It was a great night to honor this wonderful couple and bless them as they start their new life together.
Sunday morning we spent all morning getting ready. Cora was a doll all day. I love the above dress picture with Cora.
The bridesmaids dresses and suits for the guys were perfect. Everything was charcoal grey, silver, black, with a light touch of this really beautiful blue/green color.
That afternoon we all loaded onto a party bus and headed for in pictures downtown Austin. Those pictures are going to be awesome- can't wait to see them.
And Cora's flower girl outfit was awesome. Silver tutu's and silver Tom's- to die for!!! Her head band was also soooo cute.
The above picture is probably my favorite picture taken from the weekend of our family of three. I love how we are all looking at each other and look so happy. Such a joy-filled day.
Steve officiated the wedding and rocked it. It was a perfect ceremony. Cora did great going down the aisle. Kelly's dog also trotted down the aisle and it turned out so cute. Having all the windows surrounding the room was perfect.
And the party after the wedding was SO fun. Kelly and Josh had an awesome first dance that included the Gangnam Style song. The meal was delicious and all the decor was perfect- snowflakes everywhere, lots of bare branches, twinkly lights- she did great planning. Pinterest has revolutionized weddings...
After dinner and the cake cutting we watched all the first dances with fathers and mothers. The MOH and BM speeches were great and Kelly's Dad had the whole room crying.
We ended the night dancing and dancing and dancing. And people- my husband got out there and danced with me- ALOT. I love to dance, Steve not so much. It made my night to dance with him.
And all weekend my beautiful sister watched Cora. Such a treat to be able to have all weekend almost child free. All I had to do was go to the room to feed Cora. I did not change a diaper for two days. Again, such a treat to be able to participate completely. Good memories were made.
Congratulations Josh and Kelly Burns- many, many blessings on this exciting journey ahead of you.
